We mostly disagree and here is why:

At Body Basics, we aim to help our clients achieve their goals safely and efficiently using our vast experience and knowledge. AI will help you achieve your goals by writing you a program based on the information you give it. In order for the AI program to be effective, you must know a great deal about yourself in order to give it the best information. This would be related to your movement capacity and movement patterns. Our personal trainers perform a functional movement assessment that gives us insight into a client's strengths, weaknesses, limitations, imbalances, and asymmetries. Most clients discover many new things about themselves during this time. For instance, it might be limited shoulder and thoracic mobility from a rotator cuff tear years prior. Others may find that one knee collapses during a squat from tight adductor muscles, and so on.

From the assessment and from conversations with you, our personal trainers create a workout plan that helps you with your goals while also helping you move well in the safest way possible! Although AI might give you a decent, generic exercise program and can even explain proper technique, it cannot assess your real-time form to ensure appropriate weight, sets, reps, bar grip, body positioning, and safe execution. The risks associated with injury caused by improper form and faulty tempo can lead to a lifetime of discomfort and time spent recovering from a preventable injury.

Furthermore, you can't have a relationship with AI. Our personal trainers hold you accountable and help motivate you. More than just your regularly scheduled sessions in the gym, your trainer is there to care for you and progress you every step of the way--whether it is increasing your weight, modifying an exercise, or giving you positive reinforcement for your accomplishments. Your trainer is there to truly help you, holding you accountable and supporting you throughout your journey to a healthier and more active lifestyle.

In conclusion, the knowledge you receive from AI cannot match that of a personal trainer when it comes to a personalized program and coaching. The skills you learn in the gym with your trainer translate to multiple functional movement patterns (bending, twisting, pulling, bracing, lifting, etc.). Movement is crucial to our everyday lives. Hiring a personal trainer may be an investment, but it is an investment in your present self that gives you the confidence and tools to help you both in and outside of the gym. their training and programming. It has been carefully developed over the past 10 years in an effort to provide the very best functional movement personal training in Boise. My wife and I have extremely high expectations and will continue to refine and improve our processes and training as long as we own our little studio.
